Reviews from our guests
“Exquisite… simply exquisite!”
“We were seeking a nice quiet break in the countryside, away from all the hustle and bustle, and our everyday routines. As we passed the beautiful greenery of the Stonehenge UNESCO World Heritage Site, we knew we were nearly there.
We stayed in the Honey Crisp cabin at The Apple Wood in September 2014. A small lighted driveway leads up to the cabin where you can park and unload your car effortlessly.
The exterior surroundings are large trees, beautiful open views and a feeling of absolute tranquillity. The beautifully built cabin stands alone with outside seating, lighting and privacy.
Through the double-doors, the first thing that strikes you is the sheer amount of space, and the three chandeliers symmetrically hanging down from the high ceilings. The cabin is laid out well, bright and airy, and draws in the green countryside via the large picture windows. There is a very spacious kitchen, dining room and lounge, and all the equipment and utensils you could possibly wish for, as well as a dining table that can easily accommodate 6 people comfortably. The fridge/dishwasher/washing machine takes care of the hard work, leaving you free to relax on the sofas in the lounge, listening to music on the stereo or watching terrestrial/satellite channels on the large flat screen television.
There are two double bedrooms, each with its own fabulous en-suite bathroom straight out of a glossy magazine! Fluffy towels, beautiful toiletries, large mirrors and handsome tiling surround you in a feeling of complete indulgence!
The beds (one double and two singles) are comfortable and each bedroom has a selection of lamps, lots of electrical sockets and a wall-mounted television.
The entire cabin has under-floor heating as well as a wood burner in the lounge! Hot water is also immediate 24 hours a day, and a very spacious modern bath in one of the bathrooms makes great use of this!
We certainly took the opportunity to explore the surrounding countryside, visiting Salisbury, Bath, Glastonbury and many local pubs and restaurants. It’s easy to research what you want to do, as there is literature re local attractions in the lounge, and Wi-Fi for your mobile/laptop to explore your own interests.
All-in-all, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with the wonderfully positioned cabin and its well thought out facilities. Alan and Neeta, the hosts, were both welcoming and friendly, and on-hand if needed. We will be back again and have no hesitation in recommending it to others. It’s a gem!”
